Abingdon’s Food and Drink Showcase
FREE FOOD - and lots of it!
Shoppers were pleasantly surprised to find that the Food & Drink event today which was billed as a sampling event had turned into a massive free buffet. Enthusiastic chefs from Tiffins Tandoori, the Crown and Thistle Carvery and Cottage Imperial were outdoing each other in giving away platefuls of free food to pleased shoppers. Added Ingredients was also sampling olive oils and pates, Rosies Tea Room gave away goodie bags with their home-made cakes, and the Lounge Cafe showed off their Spanish cuisine, giving samples of freshly-cooked Spanish omelette.
Thanks to the Chamber of Commerce for their intiative in starting the showcase concept and thanks to Jill Carver of Added Ingredients for organising the day. We hope to have more of these showcase events at which our businesses can demonstrate just what they have to offer and local shoppers can benefit from free samples!
